Using Flash Fill for Patterns
**Flash Fill** is a powerful tool in Excel that automatically fills data based on patterns you specify. It saves time and ensures consistency when working with repetitive data tasks, such as combining names, formatting numbers, or extracting text.
How Flash Fill Works
- Step 1: Enter the first value in a new column based on the desired pattern.
- Step 2: Start typing the next value to define the pattern for Excel.
- Step 3: Use the Flash Fill shortcut (Ctrl + E) or go to the Data tab and click Flash Fill.
- Step 4: Excel automatically completes the series based on the detected pattern.
