54. Autofilling dates and times
Autofilling Dates and Times
**Autofill** is a time-saving feature in Excel that allows you to quickly fill a series of dates or times into adjacent cells. For example, you can create a series like "01/01/2024, 02/01/2024, 03/01/2024" or "10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM" without manual entry.
How Autofill Works
- Step 1: Enter the starting date or time in a cell.
- Step 2: Click on the bottom-right corner of the cell (known as the fill handle).
- Step 3: Drag the fill handle down or across to populate adjacent cells.
- Step 4: Excel automatically detects the pattern and fills in the rest of the series.
